The question I get as a realtor most often is about timing. When is the right time to buy or sell a property. The simple answer is when it's right for you. The real estate market has ups and downs just like the stock market. Right now we are in a changing market. You have most likely noticed that the interest rates have increased quite a bit over the past year. Work with an excellent lender who has your best interest in mind (Typically not your bank)
Identify what's important to you before you start spending your precious time going to open houses
Revisit the list once you do go look at homes (I call this a reality check)
Stop spending unnecessary money in the 6 months before you buy. Having a little more cash going into a purchase gives you power in negotiations AND most important a little peace of mind.
